Last week’s big event was the Annual Book Selection and Potluck meeting for our Diversity Book Club — I listed the books and posted the recipe for my contribution to the meal:

I’m still on a bit of a book high from that meeting!

I posted a pretty flower picture (Wordless Wednesday – Zinnias), registered for Dewey’s Read-a-Thon (Dewey’s Read-a-Thon), and reviewed a fun book that brought a high school fantasy to life (Book Review: All-American Girl by Meg Cabot).

I finally finished What to Eat by Marion Nestle. I’ll review that for Weekend Cooking this week. I finished Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison, my second book for the RIP VI challenge. Look for that review in a few days, too. I also finished The Women of the Cousins’ War by Philippa Gregory, David Baldwin, and Michael Jones but I’m going to save that review for when I read The Lady of the Rivers.

Reading

I’m still reading Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff for the From Left to Write Book Club. The post is due today, so it’s a good thing that it requires a musing rather than a review. Plenty to muse about even with the book only partially read.

My new lunch-time reading book is American Terroir: Savoring the Flavors of Our Woods, Waters, and Fields by Rowan Jacobsen.

Will Read

Next up: Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler. That book was challenged at a Missouri library recently. Banned Books Week is the perfect week to see what all of the fuss is about.

What are you reading?
